Getting started
Stocktally helps vending route drivers and micro-market managers record fill levels quickly. Here is how it works in three steps:
- Open the app at stocktally.agen2ic.ai/app. No account, no login — just open the page.
- Set your machine — enter a machine label (optional) and the number of columns on the machine face (default 30, up to 80). Tap "Set up".
- Tap each column to cycle through states: full → low → empty → unknown. The summary bar updates automatically. When done, tap "Copy summary" to get a plain-text report.
Tip: Take a photo of the machine on your phone first, then tap the columns while looking at the photo. The photo never leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the photos I take?
Nothing. Stocktally does not upload or transmit photographs. If you take a photo of a vending machine or shelf as a reference while auditing, that photo stays entirely on your device. The app has no upload mechanism and no server to receive files. See the Privacy page for full details.
Does Stocktally use AI or computer vision to count items?
No. Stocktally is a manual audit tool. You look at the machine or shelf and tap each column to record what you see. The product does not analyse images, detect products, or estimate fill levels automatically. Every column’s state is set by you, the driver. There is no computer vision component in this product.
Can I save my audit results or view them later?
Not on the server. Stocktally has no accounts and no server-side storage. When you close the browser tab, all data is discarded. You can copy the audit summary to your clipboard (tap "Copy summary") and paste it into a notes app, spreadsheet, or message. For longer-term record-keeping, save the copied text or screenshot the summary bar. See Pro for CSV export — note this is a planned feature, not yet built.
How much does Stocktally cost?
The basic audit tool is free for all drivers: up to 30 columns per machine, manual audit, copy-to-clipboard. Pro at $9/driver/month adds unlimited columns and CSV export (planned features). Enterprise is per-fleet pricing for teams and multi-machine route views (also planned). The pricing page shows the current plans — but please note that paid features are not yet built and the subscribe button is a demo flow that does not charge real cards. See pricing page for details.
Does this work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The app is designed to work in any modern mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) on both phones and tablets. The column grid adapts to your screen size. There is no native app to download — just open the website.
Can I use Stocktally offline?
The app is a static web page. Once it has loaded in your browser, you can continue using it as long as you keep the tab open. However, it does not include a service worker or offline cache — if you reload the page without internet access, it may not load. Data entered in the current session is lost on reload regardless.
Known limitations
Stocktally is in active development. The following features are either not yet built or are deliberately outside the scope of the current product. We believe in being upfront about what this tool does not do.
What is not yet built (planned features):
- Computer vision / AI-powered counting — the tool is entirely manual
- Accounts, logins, or saved route history — there is no server-side storage
- CSV export — the /app page has no export button; the Pro plan CSV export is a mock only
- Multi-machine route view or per-route aggregation
- Team dashboards or QA manager review screens
- Email reports, alerts, digests, or scheduled reminders — there is no email sender in the fleet
- DEX / VMS / POS / telemetry integration — none of these systems exist in this environment
- Payment processing — Stripe is connected in test/demo mode only; no real cards are charged
- Legal entity registration — no company is registered that this product operates under
Technical limitations:
- Audit data is lost when the browser tab is closed — there is no persistence mechanism
- Photos used as reference are not analysed, stored, or sent to any server
- The audit grid supports up to 80 columns per machine
- Column labels apply to the session only — there is no per-column product name or SKU field
- No barcode scanning, planogram overlay, or shelf detection
